A signed Copyright Transfer Statement (one author may sign for all) stating the title of the manuscript and transferring the copyright to Advances in Peritoneal Dialysis must be submitted with each manuscript.
Title Page. The following should be included: title of paper, first name(s), middle initial(s), and surname(s) of author(s), author affiliation(s) (indicated by asterisks or numbers), a running head of less than 40 characters, and the corresponding author's name, mailing and e-mail addresses, telephone and FAX numbers. Abstract. Each paper should be preceded by an abstract, containing about 200 words, summarizing the key points of the study.

Key Words. No more than 5 key words suitable for use in indexing should be included. Key words may appear on the same page as the Abstract.

Subheadings. The text should, if possible, be organized under the following subheadings: Abstract, Key Words, Introduction, Material and Methods, Results, Discussion, References. DO NOT type titles and subheadings in all caps.

References. Double space the entire reference list. All publications cited in the text are to be included in the reference list in the order in which they are first cited. Cite references by numbers in parentheses, e.g., (3). The total number of references should not exceed 20 and should include only works cited in the text. Spelling of author’s name and citation of dates must correspond exactly in text and reference list. After 3 author names, the use of “et al.” is acceptable for journal articles only. All authors should be included in book reference citations.

Figures. All photographs, graphs, and diagrams are referred to as figures (abbreviated “Fig.”), numbered consecutively throughout in Arabic numerals and should be submitted as separate sheets/files. Identify each print on the back with a typed label or mark it lightly with a soft pencil, including the figure number, name of the first author, arrow indicating the top of the figure, and abbreviated title of the article. Any letters and numbers in the illustrations must be legible when the figures are reduced. Submitted glossy prints, or laser-printer-produced prints must be of good quality. For figures submitted as electronic files, acceptable formats are JPG, GIF, and TIF, with the actual graph or image being no larger than 4 inches (10 cm) wide at 300 or 600 dpi resolution. Note that figures produced with Microsoft Word or PowerPoint may not appear as expected when the file is opened on a computer other than the one on which the drawing was created; it is best to convert such drawings to one of the aforementioned formats before submission. Colour images are not permitted; please use grayscale mode in all instances. Light type on a dark background is not acceptable; black text on a white background is best. In graphs with shaded elements, avoid gradient shading; use flat shading, and ensure that each element or series of related elements uses a shade distinct from that of all others in the graph. If a figure has been published previously, acknowledge its source and submit written permission of the author and publisher on a permission form; the source of the figure should be included in the list of references.

Figure Legends. Identify figure number and figure. Each figure should be briefly and clearly described, with all unique abbreviations defined. Remarks like “For explanation, see text” should be avoided.

Tables. Tables should be typed on separate sheets, numbered consecutively with Roman numerals (e.g., Table I, Table II, etc.), and given a title.

Editing. Language editing, general editing and proofreading will be done by the Editors. To speed publication, authors may not receive galley proofs.
