Aims and scope
Recognizing that the academic journal has operated as a means for transmitting thought, and by technological convention has mediated this thought through text; continent. exists to promote and explore thinking across a variety of media, and as such welcomes a range of submissions including text and scholarly articles as well as images (still and moving), poetry, fiction, sound, and other media.

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.continent. exists as a platform for thinking through media. Text, image, video, sound and new forms of publishing online are presented as reflections on and challenges to contemporary conditions in politics, media studies, art, film and philosophical thought.continent. is published quarterly on or around the 15th of March, June, September and December of each year. Our team of Editors and Section Editors collects material for each issue but we also welcome direct submissions. -
